Amazing Water Functions: Thousands of biochemical reactions and function require water. Water is needed to break down and absorb nutrients and is the primary transporter of nutrients to our cells and is the vehicle to take out wastes and poisons. Regulation of all body processes and body temperature is enhanced by water. Indicators of dehydration may be migraine headaches, joint pain (including Rheumatoid joint pain), fatigue, brain function, constipation, asthma and allergies. Drinking fluids serves a range of purposes in our bodies, such as removing waste rate, and blood pressure; and maintaining a healthy metabolism.
Because we have protons and electrons creating electrical charges, our body is an electrical unit. Doctors use the electrocardiogram and the electroencephalogram to measure the electricity in the heart and brain, which supports that our body is an electrical unit.
What is it that conducts electricity? WATER. Drinking 1-2 tall (16 oz) glasses of filtered or mineral water 20-30 minutes before each meal stimulates the digestive juices and helps to move what is in the intestines before you put more food into the system. If you are not used to drinking much water, start with a 8 oz. glass and work up to 2, 16 oz. glasses. Spread out your water intake throughout the day. Do not drink more than 4 (total of 32oz) glasses within any given hour. After a few weeks your bladder will calm down & you will urinate less frequently, but in larger amounts. Caffeinated beverages act as diuretics and increase fluid loss, so they don’t count toward your daily hydration needs. Try substituting water for your second cup of coffee or that mid-afternoon soda. Drinking more water helps the body to heal and helps the body respond even better to the work QEST & RR that is done during your therapy session.
